This site is dedicated to my construction process of my HO scale model railroad which has been named "Rocky Lines" after a cat we had with the name of Rocky. He was a very great cat which had been a stray and I brought him home. He helped us raise our daughter. He allowed her to sleep on him and when she cried in her cradle, he would rock her.
I started with a super large project in the garage. I decided that with the heat in the summer and cold of winter that I needed to come in doors. My wife allowed me to use one of our "living" rooms. It is about 13' by 14' and the layout goes around the room with a peninsula for the main yard.
I am planning on having on main town, an engine house / fueling facility, a farm with an apple orchard and Christmas trees with their own shipping facility for shipping the fruit, a sawmill and a few houses out and about throughout the layout. This site will mostly be a photo album of my endeavours for the construction of this layout.
*** I am bored with my design. I messed up. I am going to take part of the layout apart and install two reversing loops. Hopefully I will be able to incorporate a mountain or hill for it so I can one under the other.
I have installed two reversing loops in the center of the layout where the "staging" yard used to be. Eventually I will get to installing more scenery. At least now I can turn my trains around without taking them off of the tracks! I have also updated my video page (4/4/2014).
I am also a member of the Polk Station Rail, Model Railroad Club in Rickreall, Oregon. I will also have photos of my equipment on our layout there.
